Soroban Student Builders is a 4-week virtual hackathon for university students who want to build on Stellar's smart contract platform, Soroban. We're focused on two themes: DeFi (lending, borrowing, DEXs, stablecoins, and more) and consumer apps (wallets, payments, social, and everyday tools). Whether you're new to blockchain or already comfortable with Soroban, this is a chance to turn an idea into a working prototype and compete for prizes.
All deadlines are 23:59 UTC on the listed day. We recommend registering early so you have the full build window.
The total prize pool is 50 USDC, allocated across five prizes:
The top three prizes reward the strongest overall submissions. The track prizes reward the best submission in each track, with track winners also eligible for the overall prizes.
This hackathon is open to university students from around the world. Teams may have 1 to 4 members. If you are a student at an accredited university and can submit an original project, you are welcome to participate. Participants must comply with any applicable export or sanctions restrictions; KYC may be required to receive prizes. By submitting, you confirm that the project is your own work and uses open-source or licensed tools appropriately.
Submissions are evaluated by judges on:
